Mecca Theatre Camp

8/15/2018

Once again the Mecca Theater Camp that took place at ArtsForward was a huge success! The kids learned all about acting, singing, dancing, and then about how to do all three at once! Right from the start of the week we knew these kids were going to put on a great performance, not only from the skill that most of them already had, but also because of how well they listened to their teachers and took part in all of the activities. By the end of the week, the kids were able to put on quite the show for all the parents and grandparents that featured their skills in acting, singing, dance, and musical theater.

November Open Mic

11/18/2016

There were a fewer performers this month but more audience members. Many people took advantage of the Winters Eve celebration in Neepawa to do some late night shopping then drop off at open mic for music and dessert. Open mic is anything but predictable. Some of the most interesting times were when the musicians tried something together for the first time. Sometimes it goes well, sometimes not so well. At least we know we will always get a solid performance from singer-songwriter Colin McNairney. We had a new performer as well. Val Jarema got on stage to do a couple of songs. All it took was a minute or two to figure out a good key for her then off we went.
